Archipelacon 2 has planned evening get-togethers on every night of the convention, mostly for those 18 and over. All evening events are free to attend!
Thursday – Boquerian
On Thursday there will be a very special edition of the (in)famous Geek Culture Quiz run by our lovely Mikko SeppĂ€nen and Elisa Wiik! This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to find out what the buzz is all about and test your knowledge of geek culture trivia in the most overproduced Archipelacon quiz! And if you canât make it to the restaurant in person, it is always possible to attend remotely!

The Geek Culture Quiz will begin at 19.30, the restaurant is open from lunchtime until late in the evening, the kitchen is open until at least 21.00. The restaurant offers tapas-style food, which we can highly recommend!
Friday – Sunday
The rest of the convention we will be gathering in the Arkipelag Pool Bar right across the street from the convention venue. If you are hungry, Arkipelagâs Garden restaurant, on the opposite side of the pool, has plenty of delicious options on their summer menu.
Friday – Arkipelag Pool Bar
Kiertoradalla (avaruusromua)â [âIn orbit (space debris)â]. Karkia Walo interlaces poetry inspired by sci-fi, popular culture and science news with interplanetary soundscapes on modular synthesizers. The work explores human efforts to travel into space and questions the price paid for these efforts. The poetry in the performance is partly in English and partly in Finnish. We start by floating in ambient orbit, but dance away with the animal astronauts towards the end.
The performance will start at 21.00, but the bar is open from the early evening. After the performance you can stay and chat with old and new friends, and enjoy the night until sunrise!
Saturday – Arkipelag Pool Bar
After a long day of inspirational fodder for your brains, why not shake your bodies? DJ Lanai will spin danceable 80s bangers and more. Come as you are, let’s do the time warp & let the super trouper lights find you! I call it the Scalzi ersatz disco in homage to the great worldcon dance nights hosted by John Scalzi and his blinking, glittery hat.
The disco will start at 22.00, but the bar is open from the early evening. See you there!
Sunday – Dead Dog Party – Arkipelag Pool Bar
As usual for conventions, Archipelacon 2 also has a Dead Dog Party on the evening of the last day of the convention. The venue is again Arkipelag, which opens the bar just for us! So, if you are still in town for the evening, either if you are staying longer or your transport leaves later in the evening, come join us one more time!
